She was the lead guitarist in The All-Girl Hard Rock Band, The Runaways, in the mid 1970s.Their music and their rebellious songs helped them gain attention within the world of rock. The group was unable to achieve major success in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas, especially in Japan. Ford's solo metal career proved successful following the group breakup. After taking voice lessons and releasing her own debut album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin' on the Edge". The albums of Ford were not particularly popular, and she stayed away for a couple of years. The hit album Lita was released in 1989 was the trigger for her return. Kiss Me Deadly and Close My Eyes Forever which both of which were huge hits were two instances. Unfortunately, she did not last long and disappeared from the scene for several years. The release of "Black" in 1995 was followed by "Wicked Wonderland', which came out nearly 15 years later. Her most recent album, Time Capsule was released in 2016.
